WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented working student, for 10-20 hours per week, to join our data team in documenting our data ingestion workflows. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in big data technologies and technical documentation while working in a dynamic data environment.

  • You will document existing data ingestion workflows developed in Python and Spark SQL and create clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for our data lake processes.
  • In addition, you will collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand workflow intricacies.
  • Furthermore, you will maintain and update documentation as workflows evolve.
  • You will assist in creating visual aids (diagrams, flowcharts) to supplement written documentation and contribute to the development of documentation standards and best practices.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • Studies in Business Informatics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or comparable
  • Understanding of big data technologies, particularly Apache Spark (Spark SQL)
  • Familiarity with data lake concepts and architectures is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Python programming and familiarity with SQL and database concepts
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and experience with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Markdown) are a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
