Technical Program Manager, Amazon Robotics

Stellen-ID: 2817213 | Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH

BESCHREIBUNG

Do you want to create worldwide impact in Robotics? Amazon Robotics team builds high-performance, real-time robotic systems that can perceive, learn, and act intelligently alongside humans—at Amazon scale.

The Amazon Robotics team invents and scales AI systems for robotics in fulfillment. Our mission is to enable robots to interact safely, efficiently, and fluently with the clutter and uncertainty of real-world fulfillment centers. Our AI solutions enable robots to learn from their own experiences, from each other, and from humans to build intelligence that feeds itself.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to work with our team of scientists and engineers across all robotics disciplines. The ideal candidate thinks well at the system level, but can dive into the details and work with our subject matter experts. They are extremely well organized and have a proven track record of delivering multi-disciplinary products with a high degree of technical innovation. They will work both outwards with senior management and inwards with our technical development team. You will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment in solving problems in connecting the suppliers to the customers optimally.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for scoping and delivering projects across the Worldwide Ops Robotics org. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and outside merchants and vendors to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in software and hardware systems. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience with multi-disciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical and software engineers.
- Experience related to systems architecture, design, and system integration of mechatronic devices.

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey technical data with non-expert stakeholders, drive alignment across partners
