We are looking for you as a technical cost calculator (f/m/d) for DB International Operations located in Berlin as soon as possible.


Deine Aufgaben:

  • Goal of your job is to ensure the independent elaboration, further development and application of standardized technical calculation procedures to guarantee precise cost estimates and optimizations for bidding projects
  • You will be responsible for consolidated technical cost calculation in bid projects, including estimates, detailed calculations of partial services and cost elements, as well as value engineering by developing different scenarios, variants and alternatives
  • Therefore, you will perform in-depth analysis and updates on cost elements, unit prices or indirect costs and further parameters for estimates / calculations and transfer the bid calculation to the mobilization and project implementation phase
  • You will transfer technical assumptions into bid explanations by comparing actual costs to planned budgets using RIB iTWO, prepare documentation for internal reconciliations, coordinate calculation bases and prepare service specifications for cost estimation /detailed calculation
  • You will develop calculation standards cooperating with DB IO experts from rail operations, rolling stock and rail infrastructure maintenance, coordinate interfaces between HR, technical, and finance departments and implement a standardized calculation tool within respectively

Dein Profil:

  • The basis of your career is a successfully completed technical degree / university degree in engineering or a comparable field of study that is beneficial to the job
  • You have relevant professional experience of least 8 years, are now willing to utilize your skills in international bids, and paving the way and leaving your footprint on a green field of cost calculation standards
  • On this basis, you can rightly call yourself an expert in cost calculations, especially in the tendering and project calculation of large infrastructure projects at national and, in the best case, international level
  • Therefore, you are keen to and have what it takes to quickly understand and analyze complex processes, define standards and conceptualize and perform sustainable implementation of such standards on a multinational level with organization-wide impact
  • You are willing to occasionally go on international business trips, if required, and you are able to read, speak and write fluently in English, German is beneficial
