WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • In your new role, you lead the innovation and integration of state-of-the-art computational toxicology approaches into safety related decision-making processes, such as toxicological screening, grouping and read across, as well as Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches.
  • While working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you leverage expertise in computational biology, toxicology, pharmacology, and machine learning, amongst others, to develop, implement, and evaluate computational models to predict the (eco-)toxicological properties of chemicals.
  • You assist in safety evaluations by analyzing and interpreting available (eco-) toxicological data and the output of the computational models.
  • You work together with the data and digitalization teams to help structure, organize, and ensure access to internal and external (eco-) toxicological data and tools.
  • Through active participation in external research projects, engagement with regulatory authorities, publications, and presentations at key scientific conferences you strive to positively influence the regulatory toxicology landscape for an acceptance of computational tools.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology, computational toxicology, biology, human and environmental safety or a related field
  • an understanding of predictive tools with some experience in using QSAR tools
  • excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • ability to program in Python and/or R,experience with data analysis and modelling techniques are a plus
  • first experience in leadership or willingness to lead a team, including mentoring PhD and/or Post-Docs
  • exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts for a broad range of stakeholders
  • self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward
