Amazon is looking for a talented, driven and experienced Sr. Category/Vendor Manager (m/f/d) within the Furniture business, based in Munich, Milan, Madrid, London or Paris. The successful candidate will be responsible for building direct relationships with key suppliers, optimizing supply chain setup, partnering with Customer experience teams to enable services, negotiating contracts, terms & conditions, working with suppliers to build comprehensive selection, developing collaborative marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements.
The candidate should have experience analyzing new business opportunities, building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. They will work with vendors of all sizes – and must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all levels of these organizations. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metric-based conclusions by managing an extensive amount of data. The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive selection, sales, and margin growth.
In addition, the Sr. Category/Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator in working with Amazon internal groups such as in-stock management, site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems. It is highly cross-functional and needs influencing abilities while collaborating within and outside Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
1. P&L responsible for certain vendor portfolio within the Furniture category
2. Responsible for driving core inputs (Selection, availability, pricing and speed) of managed portfolio
3. Influencing the agenda of Operations and tech teams to further improve CX
4. Own and drive cross EU/division initiatives
5. Support team development through hiring, and coaching and team building (fun) activities
About the team
Furniture team takes pride in operating in a category where the customer experience bar is even higher due to the heavy bulky nature of products. We operate Pan-EU and work hand in hand with operations and services team to step change the CX in our industry. While we are already a triple digit million business, we believe we are just the start of our journey and have a long way to go. Therefore, we are looking for well-rounded builders and inventors, who want to work hard, have fun and make history - together!
For this position we expect:
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Several years of relevant work experience in buying/planning, operations, business analysis, or finance
- Experience with business analysis and expertise in Excel
- Fluent English language skills
Further qualifications would be a plus:
- Experience negotiating and closing complex business deals
- e-Commerce, consulting or investment-banking experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning and task delegation
- Experience in presenting to senior management
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Detail oriented
- Fluent German language skills
