Want to play a critical role in delivering Amazon’s largest events? We’re hiring a Technical Program Manager for Promotions Customer Experience in Berlin! We own the experiences that help customers find great deals, whether on the Today’s Deals page or across homepage, search, detail page, cart and checkout. Our experiences are key to delivering on Amazon’s promise to bring customers the best prices, whether they are browsing for daily essentials or searching for a deal on Prime Day.

You’ll bring your unique perspective and background to drive innovation in one of the most high-profile customer experiences on Amazon and during our most visible events. You'll lead high profile programs across multiple organizations to delight our customers with new promotions experiences. At that same time, you create and improve mechanisms and processes in our organization that drive efficiency and satisfaction across the org.

Key job responsibilities
- Collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch
-Make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams
- Drive simplification and efficiency in existing engineering and architectures to unblock innovation and speed of delivery
- Identify innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through sound judgment
- Engage on a regular and frequent basis with stakeholders to report status, risks and strategy
- Identify system and process deficiencies and lead the charge to drive meaningful change through writing effective narratives and presenting them to Directors and VPs
- Work closely with software engineering teams and act as technical advisors to customers and stakeholders
- Negotiate resources and priorities


A day in the life
Communication is key. You will orchestrate a tapestry of efforts across many teams. You'll do this through a mix of verbal and written communication using meetings to chart the unknown, and documents to convey knowledge at scale.

You'll think and plan at a broad scale. You understand the work required for your program, and how it can be executed in parallel across many engineers. You understand the systems and integrations across many teams.

You will have a keen eye for risks and problems. You spot them, and resolve or escalate before any impact occurs.

About the team
Amazon promotions are an integral part of the Amazon shopping experience and we are a key element of events like Prime Day. Our features are used by hundreds of millions of customers and we are responsible for the multi-billion dollar promotions business. We partner with teams throughout the Amazon ecosystem to optimize deal ingestion, to enhance classification and ranking of promotions, to expand discovery throughout the site, and to raise the bar for the best customer experience on mobile app, web, desktop.

GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN

- Experience in technical product or program management
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- Experience in software development
- Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

BEVORZUGTE QUALIFIKATIONEN

- Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
