The Amazon Smart Vehicles team is seeking an innovative, results-oriented and customer-obsessed Senior Partner Manager to develop and manage relationships with our Automotive OEM partners to bring new experiences to market that will delight customers. Our growth requires leaders who move fast, have an entrepreneurial spirit to create new products, unrelenting tenacity to get things done, capable of breaking down and solving complex problems. In this role, you will work closely with leadership, product development and solutions architects to develop our partnering strategy, implement mechanisms to scale our outbound business development activities and help closing deals.
This is a unique opportunity to develop and execute on a global strategy to help auto OEMs build their next generation in-cabin experiences.
Key job responsibilities
As part of the role’s project and program ownership, you understand the larger business picture (i.e., customer experience, organization goals, opportunities and/or problems) and also the technical requirements of the solutions being built (i.e., architecture, dependency impacts, efficiency, performance, availability, operability, etc.). You also take the time to understand the needs of engineers (who have to build, maintain and extend features for the life of the system) to make appropriate trade-offs. You partner effectively with technical managers to secure resources, scope engineering efforts, set project priorities, milestones and drive delivery. You help teams determine where to iterate to make improvements.
You will:
- Manage the automotive relationships from contract closure to integration and beyond.
- Own all facets of the partner management process, develop strategic relationships, and understand important business drivers for customers and partners.
- Partner closely with Alexa automotive product and technology teams to plan and execute Alexa Voice Service integrations and ideate on ways to simplify.
- Lead the integration programs, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.
- Work with other Amazon teams to leverage established relationships and present a unified vision to our partners.
- Understand a partner’s product portfolio and roadmap and ensure that Alexa is part of the partner’s ongoing plans.
- Report on plans and results to senior management, and communicate frequently with various internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in market development of automotive products, and is a self-starter with a passion to innovate on behalf of customers. You will demonstrate ownership, you will balance speed and quality and you will have fun while making history.
A day in the life
You will be working with product and engineering teams, design teams and certification teams both internally and externally with partners. You will be balancing Amazon Leadership Principles on a regular basis by bridging the space between the automotive industry and the Amazon world. You will write documents, influence stakeholders, build consensus and ship product to market. You will have good program or project management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to adapt to new scenarios, familiarity with business and technical work streams and a track record of delivering high quality results.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Several years’ experience working in a technical field or technical organization
- Several years’ experience leading medium-to-large scale projects or programs
- Experience working with external partners
- Experience in the automotive industry: direct working experience at, or with, automotive OEMs or Tier1s
- Experience with connected devices and/or cloud-based services
- Master’s degree or MBA
- Experience in voice-powered systems, connected devices, and or Internet of Things
- Demonstrated experience in account management, product planning and management, and/or marketing
- Current working knowledge of speech technologies and voice interfaces
- Experience with vertical-specific products, leading brands, customer value propositions and product evolution
- Ability to work independently toward stated goals with minimal oversight
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management both internally and externally
