The Department of Cardiovascular Aerospace Medicine at the Institute investigates the adaptation of the cardiovascular system to extreme environments. We seek a candidate with proven expertise and publication profile in the areas of cardiovascular medicine, altitude medicine, diving medicine, and baromedicine. The research profile should particularly include experience in translational patient-oriented research and conducting highly standardized controlled studies. This includes experience and in-depth knowledge of the use of hypobaric chambers and atmospheric conditioning, as well as a wide range of techniques for investigating cardiovascular function and respiration under these conditions. Extensive knowledge in emergency and intensive care medicine is also required.
