We are looking for a Software Development Engineer within Amazon’s central AI organization, AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), to develop next-generation experimentation tools that facilitate collaboration across teams and empower scientists to work seamlessly with multi-modal and multi-lingual Large Language Models (LLM) throughout their entire lifecycle, from training to evaluation. You will play a crucial role in delivering scalable solutions for ML/LLM experimentation and research, ensuring the scalability, reproducibility, and traceability of innovative experiments.
Your main responsibilities will include designing and implementing highly scalable and distributed solutions capable of managing vast amounts of data and computational resources. You will work closely with scientists focused on Amazon’s foundational models, identifying their requirements and translating them into effective, broad solutions. This collaboration will streamline LLM training processes and enhance the velocity and impact of your team's contributions.
In this fast-moving field, you will be expected to identify long-term, scalable solutions while managing large-scale compute infrastructure and working with the latest GPU technology. Implementing end-to-end automation and designing solutions for reproducible experimentation and evaluation will be critical aspects of your role.
Successful candidates will collaborate closely with scientists specializing in areas such as retrieval-augmented generation, multilingual LLMs, machine translation, and question answering, as well as advanced topics like knowledge distillation and contextualized embeddings. You will be involved in all stages of ML experimentation, from model fine-tuning to performance optimization. - Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Strong sense of ownership and drive
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with Machine Learning experimentation and or workflow automation
