GIZ’s Civil Peace Service (CPS) programme „Dealing with the past and shaping a future free of violence – strengthening non-violent conflict transformation approaches for sustainable peace in Nepal” aims at creating spaces for non- violent conflict transformation. CPS further works with local actors to promote holistic approaches to ‘dealing with the past’, that seek justice, reconciliation, and healing. This position supports the program at a strategic level in organisational development, knowledge management with attention to GESI (gender equality and social inclusion) and digitalization in collaboration with the program coordinator and PME advisor.
- Evaluation of the project phase to date: status of implementation, critical and analytical review of results and quality of implementation
- Conducting a comprehensive review of programme documents, conflict and context analysis and stakeholder analysis
- Developing a proposal for the new project phase in close cooperation with the programme coordinator and planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME) advisor based on the global CPS strategy
- Identification of areas of work with a special focus on GESI and digitalisation in line with the TLS (cross-agency country strategy)
- Support to strengthen knowledge management in close cooperation PME advisor
- Development of systematic knowledge management using a learning community approach in close cooperation with the PME advisor: Learning objectives and needs, documentation, integration of local knowledge, multidirectional learning formats, innovations
- Support and initiate networking and professional exchange of partner organizations and other peace organisations
- University degree in peace and conflict studies, communication, social work, social science, development studies, or related field
- Expertise and practical experience in monitoring and evaluation and/or proposal writing
- Experience in using analytical approaches in the field of peacebuilding
- Experience working in/with the Civil Peace Service (GIZ or other)
- International working experience with civil society actors, specifically in conflict transformation and peacebuilding, experience in Nepal as an asset as well as PME experience
- Professional experience in a (post-)conflict context as an asset
- Business fluent in German and English

At the site of operation, the particulate pollution occurs to be many time higher than the European acceptable limit. As part of the selection process and during the recruitment examination you will be informed of appropriate protective and behavioral measures.
Please note that this position is a short term position! Only candidates can be considered who had already a minimum of 1 year contract as a development worker according to the Entwicklungshelfergesetz (EhfG).
Willingness to travel on a regular basis is required.
