About the role
Our approach combines the best of management consulting and systems integration to support automotive clients as they transform their businesses. We are now expanding our UK team as part of our continued growth.
The role is based in the UK and you’ll already be eligible to work here. We offer full hybrid working: You can base yourself at home, in the office, or a mixture of both - whichever you prefer. There will be occasions when clients would like to see you collaborating with them onsite.

What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring the operational delivery of high-quality projects and programmes across consulting services and solutions that drive value for clients. Your role will involve strategic account planning, cross functional team management, program steering and delivery, business development, and client relationship management, all aimed at helping automotive companies optimize operations, improve performance, and embrace innovations in the industry.
Project Oversight & Management:
o Work closely with the sales and delivery teams across the UK and MHP colleagues from multiple Regions as required to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to budget, within scope, and to the highest standards.
o Manage and provide operational guidance / oversight to matrix team members – teams that are formed to meet the needs of specific projects and programmes of work for our customers
o Review, shape & steer project deliverables ensuring MHP UK meet and where possible exceed agreedupon KPIs and objectives.
Client Relationship Management:
o Act as the main liaison between MHP and key automotive clients, ensuring strong, trust-based relationships.
o Understand clients' business challenges and objectives, and work with our sales and business development teams to create tailored solutions.
o Willingness to travel. Be on site for regular meetings with clients to review project progress, provide updates, and gather feedback.
Strategic Account Planning:
o Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize business opportunities and grow the account portfolio.
o Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for consulting services, products, or new projects.
Business Development:
o Proactively support efforts to acquire new business from existing clients and develop relationships with potential new clients.
o Support in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and RFP responses to existing customers and potential clients.
Financial Management:
o Monitor account performance and profitability, ensuring that revenue targets and budget expectations are met.
o Prepare financial forecasts, track budgets, and identify opportunities to improve margins.
o Keep the pipeline and utilisation reports up to date.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
o Mentor and provide guidance to consultants within MHP UK.
o Collaborate with marketing and other teams to align client strategies with MHP’s overall business objectives.
What we are looking for
• 10 years working in the automotive industry (desirable).
• PROSCI qualification would be an advantage
• Operations / Project Management
• Proven track record of fostering productive relations across clients and partners.
• Deep understanding of the automotive/mobility industry, its challenges, key players, including OEMs.
• Very good knowledge of one or multiple CRM systems like Salesforce and SAP.
• Strong communicator and able to manage multiple stakeholders both efficiently and effectively.
• Capable of creating high-quality business documentation: business cases, pitch decks etc.
• Experience in a number of the following areas would be advantageous:
o Optimisation of SAP related systems, processes and operations – identifying inefficiencies, analysing requirements & recommending solutions
o ERP (Enterprise Requirements Planning) – Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
o Digital Manufacturing (Robotics, PLM, simulation) & Digital Engineering
o CX Strategy Definition: Vision, Values, Evaluation, Design, Implementation, Loyalty & CLTV
o Immersive Technology: Digital enhancement of customer & prospect experience
o Mobility Services: Business Models, Technology Infrastructure, Unit Economics
o Go to Market: Brand & Retailer specific routes to Market in an increasingly complex landscape
o Electrification: Insight and experience to help our customers succeed
o Sustainability: Strategy development & Regulatory understanding
Experience in the automotive industry would be a plus but don’t let that stop you, we’re also interested to hear from candidates who have experience in industries that ‘make’ things - manufacturing, med-tech, consumer goods and so on
