Operations and Client Services Tech

Operations and Client Services Tech is a group specifically targeted at delivering digital products focused on providing solutions in a low-friction and easily consumable manner. These solutions benefit clients and operations for whom banking is not their core business but a service that they require.

As a Senior Java Engineer (f/m/x) you will have the unique opportunity to join a new and growing team focused on transforming the technology landscape of our Corporate Bank. This includes building and expanding our platform for process execution as well as applying it to different business domains and use cases. Wherever possible, we aim at simplifying and automating execution tasks, thereby making the work of our internal clients more productive and the experience of our external clients more satisfying.

Your key responsibilities

  • Implement End to End client service automations for corporate clients within Deutsche Bank

  • Design, develop and document microservice-based & Cloud-native application components in accordance with requirements specification

  • Write clear, maintainable and reusable code and take part in code reviews to ensure that features are developed at high quality standards

  • Participate in technical discussions and architecture decisions within the team

  • Work in a cross disciplined agile team with shared responsibility and high autonomy

Your skills and experiences

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Mathematics (ideally combined with finance or business knowledge) or extensive working experience in the area

  • Strong Experience in the development of distributed and resilient backend applications, in particular experience with Java, Spring Boot, APIs (REST, gRPC) and databases. Experience with microservices, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, API Gateway, JavaScript/Typescript and ReactJS is appreciated.

  • Practical experience with Kubernetes platforms, modern version control (e.g. Gitflow) and Continuous Integration Systems (e.g. Github Actions). Experience with Public Cloud (especially Google Cloud Platform) is a plus

  • Experience working with agile software methodologies (e.g. Scrum), very good team work and excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in German and English (spoken and written)
