Within AWS, our Industries team manages our biggest and most complex global accounts.
This role leads the team that owns Financial Planning for AWS Industries.
We seek a world class Senior Finance Manager to provide end-to-end financial support to the business partners in AWS Industries. The successful candidate will help drive the growth of the organization by providing financial stewardship and analytical insights into key financial and operational performance metrics. They will be a strategic partner to the business and assist in evaluating operational processes, business opportunities, and support planning / forecasting.
Their work will have exposure to the AWS CEO and CFO.
The successful candidate must have a passion for detail and the ability to dive deep into the foundational building blocks of the AWS Business Development and Strategic Industries organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Financial Analayst
- Drive modeling and forecasting for all teams within the organization
- Manage month-end close processes and reporting for Key Metrics across the business units
- Possess the passion and demonstrated skills for developing relationships, processes and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership, guidance and implementation on driving process improvement
- 10+ years of finance experience across multiple roles, ideally in commercial finance roles
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
