Limited: 2 years | Starting date: 01.04.2025 | ID: FHMA023/2024 | Deadline: open | Full-time/Part-time | Remote work possible
DESY, with more than 2900 employees at its two locations in Hamburg and Zeuthen, is one of the world's leading research centres. Its research focuses on decoding the structure and function of matter, from the smallest particles of the universe to the building blocks of life. In this way, DESY contributes to solving the major questions and urgent challenges facing science, society and industry. With its ultramodern research infrastructure, its interdisciplinary research platforms and its international networks, DESY offers a highly attractive working environment in the fields of science, technology and administration as well as for the education of highly qualified young scientists.
The Nationale Forschungsdaten-Infrastructure (NFDI, National Research Data Infrastructure) supports research data management activities in the German science landscape. Base4NFDI is an effort supported by all consortia to develop and deploy basic services, involving institutions from all relevant infrastructure domains and from all major research organisations in Germany.
The employee will work within the Base4NFDI initiative as part of a large distributed team aiming to establish base services at a national scale. The team engages with the different NFDI consortia and sections; it works out the standards and principles for the monitoring process, and it plays a key role in the decision processes related to base services established by Base4NFDI.
At DESY, the section liaison officer will work in a diverse team, and in particular closely with colleagues from the PUNCH4NFDI and DAPHNE4NFDI consortia of the NFDI.
As a section liaison officer you:
- Engage with the NFDI sections and consortia, meet with relevant groups and activities
- Capture the specification of basic needs and special basic solutions in the different scientific disciplines, formalising and comparing existing solutions
- Coordinate experience, approaches, solutions and needs between NFDI sections, their working groups, and the NFDI consortia
- Support the work of NFDI sections and NFDI consortia in the preparation, development, monitoring and reporting of base services
- Further tasks are the documentation of the overall infrastructure architecture, contributions to the reporting of Base4NFDI achievements, the quality assurance for the development of base services and their risk assessment
Look forward to a unique working environment on our international research campus. Respectful cooperation and the well-being of our DESY employees are particularly important to us. Gender equality is an important aspect for us. To support work life balance we offer flexible working hours, variable part-time, job-sharing models and participation in mobile work (up to 50%). You will benefit from our family-friendly and collegial atmosphere, our established health management and occupational pension provision. As a public funded employer, we offer you a secure workplace and facilitate your individual career with our comprehensive training and development opportunities. Remuneration is according to the regulations of the TV-AVH. DESY offers its employees a financial supplement for a German job ticket (Deutschland-Ticket) at both locations.
