The MSK group is responsible for the control, synchronisation, and feedback systems of the accelerators at DESY. Our international team of technicians, engineers, and scientists develops and operates state-of-the-art control and diagnostic devices for the European XFEL, the free-electron laser FLASH, and the storage ring PETRA.
- Development of devices, components, and diagnostics for the RF synchronisation systems providing femtosecond accuracy for the EuXFEL
- Development of ultra-low noise RF components such as filters, switches, amplifiers, tuneable attenuators and phase shifters in the MHz, and GHz frequency range
- lnvestigation of efficiency enhancements and noise performance improvements of high-power RF amplifiers
- Electronic design, prototype development, characterisation, and concept evaluation

Limited: 3 years
- Completed scientific university education in electrical engineering or physics with PhD degree or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
- Several years of professional experience in the design, construction, and modeling of low-noise RF electronics in the MHz and GHz range
- Professional experience in the field of analog and digital electronics in the low- and high-frequency range
- Experience with modern RF measuring devices, CAD Software (e.g., Altium Designer), and RF modeling tools (HFSS,CSI, ADS, etc.)
- Expertise in RF synchronisation of systems with high precision
- Work experience in creating specifications for a larger high-frequency project
- High level of commitment at work and great flexibility to find solutions to very different tasks within a team
- Excellent knowledge of English
