Summary:

The Sales Intern will work closely with our Sales and Appleton team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operations of the Voith Paper Product and Services business. The student will be assigned tasks with set deadlines and will collaborate with various team members and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a training program that covers sales administration, essential sales functions, responsibilities of Regional Sales Managers, Voith values and culture, key business drivers, and customer operations and expectations.

  • Accompany Regional Sales Managers on trips to understand the sales process and customer operations and needs.

  • Engage with team members during customer service visits, outage jobs, equipment startups at customer mill sites.

  • Increase understanding of customers, market, and Voith products/services through reading marketing/industry publications and completing Voith online training

  • Assist Regional Sales Managers in acquiring new business and maintaining/servicing existing customer accounts.

  • Provide administrative and service support to Regional Sales Managers and Applications Engineering team as needed.

  • Comply with all safety policies, Voith policies, and customer standards and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, engineering or related field.

  • Must live in North centrally focused. (Preferably OH/IN/KY/IL)

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of time on a weekly basis.

  • Paper industry experience is preferred

  • Understanding of basic business and operations/maintenance practices.

  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be comfortable working with hands, tools and entering equipment during customer service support visits.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. At times, some lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and balancing is necessary.
