Details of the role and how it fits into the team
Project Finance (PF) is an investment desk focused on lending to asset owners in its core industries and forms an integral part of the Trade Finance and Lending (TFL) platform within the Corporate Bank.
PF focuses on the product suite with non-recourse/limited recourse senior secured financings and encompasses the origination, structuring, arranging and distribution of PF senior debt products (strategic and tactical), targeting clients ranging from corporates, financial institutions, institutional investors to public sector entities across the infrastructure and energy sectors with a particular focus on the energy transition.
PF work closely with the various desks within TFL and Deutsche Bank using various origination and distribution channels. Currently PF has desks in Frankfurt, London and Singapore, and is scheduled to open desks in New York in the near future.
The team is looking for candidate specializing in project finance to support the Frankfurt PF platform.
Your key responsibilities
Interact closely with others in Structuring, Syndication and Coverage teams in a dynamic environment. The primary duties and responsibilities would involve the focus on project financing in the infrastructure and energy sectors
Support senior members of PF personnel in evaluating new transactions sourced through a variety of channels, with a focus on analyzing and assessing risks / profitability of project finance transactions
Support in structuring and executing of PF transactions across a variety of different infrastructure and energy sub-sectors and across different financing products and solutions
Perform comprehensive due diligence and risk analysis of transactions, including running complex cash flow models as well as analyzing output for the purpose of deal structuring
Prepare and develop marketing materials and presentations used to solicit new transactions
Creating and maintaining internal risk reports and coordinating internal approval processes
Your skills and experiences
Relevant experience (2-3 years) from a project finance platform or setting
Superior analytical aptitude and creative problem-solving abilities. Numeracy, accuracy and financial modelling experience are essential
Excellent communication and client facing skills and ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with other parts of Deutsche Bank
Well organised and display a strong aptitude for project management and have an attention to detail
First experience of dealing with transaction documents/ credit documentation beneficial
