Your Mission: To drive an innovative single-cell profiling program for novel diagnostics and therapies

Join ZEISS Corporate Research & Technology in our mission to explore new applications, markets, and technologies beyond the horizon of our business units. We are launching an exciting program focused on cellular profiling for diagnostics, drug development, and production, including spatial omics and single cell analysis. You will lead and shape this effort utilizing your expertise in applications and markets to identify and assess opportunities, drive innovation, and manage a portfolio of projects. By leveraging cutting-edge microscopy-based technologies like spatial omics and label-free imaging, you will play a pivotal role in bringing innovative solutions to biotechnology, life science, and pharma research.

Your Role

• Drive innovation in imaging-based single-cell profiling applications (incl. the fields of spatial omics, single cell analysis, label free imaging) by identifying and evaluating opportunities in the innovation sweet spot of desirability, feasibility, and viability

• Shape the strategy for cell profiling for novel diagnostics and therapies

• Conduct market studies, identify customer needs, and develop solution concepts laterally leading an inter-disciplinary team

• Build up a portfolio of projects to implement solution concepts via demonstrators

• Extend and maintain a partner network in the field

• Develop new business and venturing proposals and support the successful transfer of concepts, technologies, and solutions to ZEISS business units

Your Profile

• A degree in the life sciences, medical engineering, or similar; a PhD is beneficial

• Extensive experience in the field of drug development and production workflows in pharma & biotech industry; ideally in the field of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs)

• Several years of experience and expertise in microscopy workflows and innovative cell profiling solutions such as spatial omics, label-free imaging, or single-cell analysis and sequencing

• Proven track record of expertise as a project manager and in strategy development

• Curiosity and passion to explore new topics

• The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and a very good command of German and English
