The Process Engineer assists and supports our operations and business functions using engineering methods and offers recommendations for improvements based on sound principles and their ex-tensive experience in implementing change. The successful candidate on a daily basis will be inter-acting with work planners, power plant engineers, shop floor employees and quality specialists to identify ways of improving the Company and its operations. At any moment you could be working with disassembly, cleaning, NDT, inspection, repair, assembly and engine testing of large commer-cial and military gas turbine engines. Our Process Engineers ensure that all processes and proce-dures meet the product quality requirements according the engine manual, technical orders or approved by the Designated Engineering Representative (DER).
Your Tasks:
- Tool and fixture design for new products and process optimization.
- Process development activities for new products.
- Creating technical documentation (e.g. technical orders, engineering investigation reports, drawings, etc…).
- Supporting other departments with tool manufacturing and repair.
- Engine manual research for new products to identify tool and process requirements
- Continuous improvement activities to reduce waste
- Day-by-day support in engineering activities and projects as assigned.
- Gathering, managing and analyzing production process related data.
- Development and implementation of production processes.
- Project Management including purchasing, implementation and releasing of new machines.
- Failure Method Effect Analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis (8D).
- First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Final approval of newly designed tools.
- Special projects in the field of industrial / process engineering.
- Implementation of KPI’s to measure the process maturity.
- Prepare and conduct workshops related to production processes.
- Communicate and interact with other international MTU Maintenance locations to resolve common Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) specific issues.
Our Requirements:
- Degree in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, integrated engineering or materials engineering or similar
- Minimum of three years of work experience in a production support engineering role in a Gas Turbine MRO or manufacturing facility are mandatory.
- 3D Mechanical design applications (Solid Works, CATIA, NX12 etc…)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- MS Office skills (advanced user)
- Excellent Business English (oral & written)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, can do attitude and adaptable
- Motivated in continuous improvement
- Must be an analytical thinker, initiator, and problem solver
- Energetic, hardworking and effective in team working environment as well as working inde-pendently with minimal supervision
- Interest and basic knowledge of aviation industry
