Position Overview

This position will be responsible for new startup activities, ramping up processes and hiring employees while operating a new Porsche PDC. Achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction through the consistent application of uniform Parts Distribution Center (PDC) policies and procedures. Ensure dealer and customer satisfaction through service enhancements, improving delivery, providing order accuracy, efficient warehouse processes, and high levels of inventory accuracy. Continually strive to increase the efficiency of all warehouse operations to improve service by continuous improvement to ensure KPI metrics are achieved. Manage the P&L, monitor/control the parts inventory of the PDC, and deliver a positive annual Return on Sales.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Hire and manage key personnel, build and maintain a highly motivated, knowledgeable and skilled workforce and provide staff communication and development as required.
  • Evaluate financial and production statistics to ensure profitability and individual employee productivity standards are achieved.
  • Ensure corporate objectives (KPIs) are met for parts distribution and transportation service levels.
  • Communicate frequently with Porsche Cars North America colleagues and field personnel to evaluate and improve results of PDC service initiatives.
  • Plan, design, and optimize facility utilization by maximizing inventory slotting and zone concept production flow, while achieving greater densities of inventory stored per sq. ft.
  • Develop and implement practices to improve LTL and dedicated delivery service carrier performance to optimize PDC service goals.
  • Develop and maintain a business relationship with the dealers serviced by the facility
  • Develop and manage the annual operating and expense budget with PLS leadership
  • Assist procurement in negotiating local suppliers/vendors pricing.
  • Utilize “Big Picture” thinking while addressing top-level concerns and finding the best path forward
  • Able to respond quickly to shifting priorities and adjust initiatives accordingly
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment for Associates.
  • Create and maintain a local employee engagementactivity team and ensure team building and celebrating activities are actively pursued, budgeted and implemented.
  • Perform necessary facility capital planning and management functions to ensure the integrity of the building and equipment.
  • Facilitate the 5S and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen concept) throughout the operations.
  • Be highly capable and demonstrate the use of SAP EWM and all daily process transactions to hold supervisors and team members accountable.
  • Consistently conduct frequent internal safety, CI and staff meetings with leadership team and all associates to review performance, safety measures, strategize objectives and exchange ideas.
  • Responsible for the proper usage, awareness, and compliance with IT security policies at PCNA.
  • Seeks to ensure proper retention of electronic documents, business confidential information, and actively demonstrates an understanding of the need to safeguard competitive information in both electronic and non-electronic formats.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent job related experience
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) SAP EWM is preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of manufacturing and/or distribution management experience of 30+ employees
  • Vendorsupplier management and negotiation experience
  • Leadership in continuous improvement; Kaizen; and/or Six Sigma concepts
  • P&L management experience
  • KPI metric experience
  • Excellent statistical and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, direct, train, and motivate employees in a team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Advanced working level knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Strong employee relation skills

Percentage of required travel: Typically minimal travel, could be up to 10%

Schedule/Shift: Depends on building operational hours, typically 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Physical requirements

  • This job operates in a warehouse and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will also have daily work in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, move, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/warehouse noisy environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, color, distance, and depth perception.

The salary range for this role is $110,000-$150,000 per year. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. Porsche reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness.
