For our Institute for Low Carbon Industrial Processes in Cottbus, Zittau we are looking for

Team leader of the "Industrial Projects and Project Management" group
What to expect:
The Institute of Low CO2 Industrial Processes expands the research portfolio of the German Aerospace Center with the new focus on CO2 reduction for industrial processes. The spectrum includes renewable energy sources, energy conversion technologies and energy storage as well as energy system analysis.
While significant progress has been made in the past in the generation of electricity from renewable energies and while innovative technologies for electromobility have been developed, the focus is now shifting to the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industrial processes. Efficient heat pumps for the provision of process heat will make a significant contribution. An economically viable transformation of industrial processes into low-carbon technologies is the motivation for the work at the DLR Institute of Low Carbon Industrial Processes at the Cottbus and Zittau sites. The Institute's task is to support industry on the path to decarbonization through technology development and scientific consultancy.
The position is assigned to the High Temperature Heat Pumps department. The “Industrial Projects and Project Management” group is responsible for managing the department's industrial demo projects and carries the expertise in the area of project management in the department. The group will oversee and manage all demo projects for the department from the initial idea to the realization. The position holder and his/her colleagues will design and organize the cooperation between the other groups of the department and will be responsible for the timely and high-quality implementation of the projects with a budget above 1 MiO €.
What we expect from you:
  • Completed scientific university degree (Master / Diploma Uni) in engineering (e.g. industrial engineering) or economics (e.g. business administration or other degree relevant to the job)
  • Knowledge in the field of industrial heat supply
  • Knowledge or practical experience (2-3 years) in the field of industrial production processes
  • Expertise in the planning and implementation of projects proven by a certificate preferably PMI / PMP or by several years of proven professional experience
  • Proven experience in the management of industrial projects Experience in the management of teams or groups
  • Good business management skills
  • Good knowledge in the acquisition of third-party funded projects
  • Very good knowledge of German and English

Security clearance as well as the willingness to security clearance pursuant to §§ 8 ff. Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is a condition for employment at DLR.
