WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team for a master thesis project focused on MLOps and Data Science in Industrial Process Automation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the advancement of industrial automation.

  • You will conduct research on MLOps practices and their application in industrial process automation.
  • Moreover, you will benchmark different MLOps frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Metaflow, Dagster, Databricks, Kedro, MLFlow, Comet ML, Weights & Biases, Delta Lake) to identify the advantages and limitations of each framework based on sample dataset.
  • You will develop the most efficient and appropriate MLOps pipelines for monitoring and deploying data-driven models.
  • In addition, you will write unit and integration tests for each method in the pipeline as well as compile documentation in Sphinx.
  • You will implement data and model versioning as well as model monitoring.
  • Last but not least, you will evaluate and optimize model deployment strategies for both CPU and GPU environments.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • advanced Master´s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • strong knowledge of Python programming (e.g. PyTorch, Numpy) as well as good understanding of MLOps fundamentals
  • good programming knowledge with writing unit and integration tests using pytest
  • familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker with CI/CD automation is a plus
  • experience with models deployment in CPU and GPU environments is a plus
  • strong communication skills in English
  • excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
