Position Overview

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Risk Management Solutions FX (RMS FX) serves corporate clients within the Corporate Bank (CB) regarding FX risks as well as precious and base metals. We cover the entire range of solutions for mitigating these risks. The underlying currency transactions range from payment transactions and balance sheet items to international financing and M&A transactions. In addition to traditional currencies of the G10 countries, markets with capital controls and illiquid currencies are of particular importance.

The division is creating a new specialised position focused on catering to the needs of clients in the public sector. While you will be embedded into the corporate FX team responsible for the home market, the geographic scope of the role will reach across EMEA. This responds to increased needs of publicly owned entities which have come up during recently.

Increasing our penetration of public sector clients is a key priority of Deutsche Bank. You will therefore be seamlessly integrated into a team of highly motivated product and coverage experts across EMEA who will jointly work with you on building this client vertical.

Your preferred location is Frankfurt, however working in another location would be negotiable due to the international nexus of the role.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will report to the Head of RMS FX DACH and support publicly owned clients across EMEA in all foreign exchange related matters

  • You will be responsible for tapping the full customer potential (existing and new customers) across the entire FX product range, consisting of vanilla and more complex solutions, with responsibility for an international customer portfolio.

  • As this is a core business the bank is intending to build, a core focus of the role will be acquisition of new customers and opportunities in partnership with our colleagues from Public Sector Coverage

  • You will act as the interface to regional, central, and global business partners, including those from Cash Management, Trade Finance, Trading, the Investment Bank, and the global RMS divisions.

  • You will independently develop and identify cross-selling ideas across products and services and ensure the timely involvement of the relevant product experts.

Your skills and experiences

  • Apprenticeship in banking, advanced qualification and/or university degree with a business, economics or political affairs background desirable

  • Previous knowledge of and exposure to capital markets and financial products; specific training on foreign exchange products can happen on the job – existing experience would be an advantage

  • Experience in dealing with and supporting clients in an international environment, ideally with some exposure to publicly owned entities already

  • High degree of initiative, risk awareness, deal orientation, coupled with good teamwork and interpersonal and communication skills

  • Very good language skills in English and ideally one or more other European languages. Proficiency in German would be an advantage, but is not a must-have.
