This internship is scheduled to start in October 2025 and is open to International Candidates. Candidates must be available for a full-time position and a committment of a minimum of 6 months.

Position Objective:

The PMNA Workshop Intern supports the team’s organization and testing operations. Assisting the Workshop Coordinator on process creation and optimization is a critical role. Additional primary responsibilities are to support the dyno technician with qualitative test and analysis of race car engines (contemporary and historic). This includes the preparation and support of dyno runs & failure analysis. This position has a high demand for high technical skills and hands on mentality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Streamlining & Documentation of processes
  • Analysis of test data and update databases after each engine test
  • Support quality management processes
  • Workshop organizational topics
  • Preparation and installation of race car engines for dyno testing
  • Dynamometer testing of current Porsche race car engines and historic engines
  • Troubleshooting of technical issues with diagnostic equipment
  • Engine removal from dyno and post dyno processes and inspection
  • General maintenance of test equipment
  • Assisting of the technicians in the workshop when necessary

Qualifications

Education

  • Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • Data analysis
  • Quality Management
  • Automotive Industry exposure
  • Previous Porsche employment preferred but not crucial.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Technology

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Strong Analytical and Mathematical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. with VBA for office)
  • Some competency with VBA or other programming languages preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Preferably hands on capabilities (e.g. SAE or personal projects) and automotive industry exposure, high technical skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Good listener
  • Accepts instructions willingly
  • Strong automobile affinity helpful
  • Optional: Embedded systems programming, electrical circuit design, C++ programming

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
  • This job operates in an automotive workshop and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, automotive parts at operational temperature and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.

The Pay Range for this position is $19 - $21 per hour, dependent on education status.
