Industrial Chemistry Technician

The duties of the Industrial Chemistry Technician include:

• Work with plating technicians to ensure quality of work from Chrome, Nickel and Cadmium deposits
• Work with plating technicians to ensure quality of work from chromate treatment, chemical film, passivate and nital etch

• Implementing and updating Internal Quality System and Internal Laboratory Management System
• Responsible for Covering Analyst in performing Chrome, Nickel and Cadmium solution analysis
• Responsible for Covering Chemist in performing Physical testing on test coupons as required by specification, Hydrogen Detection Instrument test and all other tests required by specifications on the other pre and post plating baths
• Analyse and optimise the existing processes to improve overall quality, efficiency, and cost and reduce waste through forward thinking
• Control and sample effluent waste and ensure up to date records are maintained at all times
• Maintain all supplies required to perform testing of the baths
• Implement a quality audit programme to regularly gauge compliance with all maintenance procedures
