Role Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager Health Economics & Market Access Germany, the Health Economics & Market Access Specialist will support the development and execution of strategies that integrate health economic and market access solutions to ensure market access and competitive advantage of Johnson & Johnson products in a value-based healthcare market.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Systematic screening, analysis, interpretation, and market-oriented preparation of health economic evidence for relevant indications, procedures and products
  • Dissemination and convincing communication of the medical and economic added value of the relevant procedures and our products to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as well as to internal marketing and sales colleagues
  • Development of reimbursement information for internal and external customers and related trainings
  • Development of new Health Economics tools or adaptation of existing international tools to the German market. Training Marketing / Sales for an effective use of the tools
  • Training for colleagues from sales, marketing, strategic account management on health care and reimbursement system
  • Support the German HEMA team in cross franchise activities such as copy approvals, records management, vendor management

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required with an advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, MHA, MBA) in health economics, outcomes research or healthcare related field preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role within medical device, pharma or consulting business; with a public or commercial payer; hospital controlling or in academia.
  • Understanding of implications of the German specific funding mechanisms and activities at all levels (national, country, regional and hospital) required to gain market access is critical
  • Understanding of HEMA tools and their benefit for market access strategies and activities
  • Good understanding of health economical concepts and techniques such as opportunity cost, cost effectiveness, cost-minimization analysis, and budget impact analysis
  • Good understanding of out-patient reimbursement and Market Access would be a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) as well as epidemiology and statistical methods
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Significant experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, especially very good Excel skills
  • Expertise in additional programs such a Power BI or Power Apps would be beneficial, at least the willingness to acquire this expertise is essential
  • Dedication to the development of high-quality deliverables within strict project deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Project management skills, ability to manage complexity and to prioritize
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial work environment, a willingness to take on responsibilities outside one’s typical scope of work, resourcefulness, and a drive to work collaboratively with other divisions of the company to leverage internal expertise (e.g. health economics, government affairs, marketing etc.)
  • Big picture thinker with the ability to understand the implications of reimbursement and market access trends that will impact commercial success
  • Ability to take evidence and other complex data and package it into easy-to-understand deliverables that can support commercial use
  • Solution-oriented, with the ability to offer creative options for problem solving
  • About 20% national travel is required
