Financial Engineer - 12 Month Contract

What’s the role?
You will be joining a specialized area of Bloomberg that concentrates on offering premium structuring, valuation and risk services to our clients including cross-asset flexible, customizable tools and models that illustrate valuation transparency.
We will trust you to:
- Work closely with Financial Engineers to understand current infrastructure, gather requirements and design solutions
- Work with Engineers to get familiar with Bloomberg technology stack and decide how to proceed with the implementation of the solutions
- Proceed with the coding, testing and implementation of new solutions and the migration of existing solutions
- Be a key contributor to the team, drive the incorporation of new technologies, improve development practices and share your knowledge to drive the growth of the team.
- Be creative and flexible to solve highly complex problems while understanding the scope and impact of your work.
You'll need to have:
Master's degree in a technical area (such as Math, Physics or Engineering), quantitative finance field required. PhD a plus.
- A proven track-record in developing in Python/Javascript for financial applications in a professional environment
- The ability to gather requirements and to design solutions accordingly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to articulate clearly in group presentations and in interactions with clients, via phone or face-to-face.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex and cross-asset environment.
- Ability to work with multiple groups across reporting lines.
We'd love to see:
- Recent experience at a Dealer (or at other top financial institutions) in financial engineering, model validation or front office setting
- Cross asset derivatives and market risk experience.
- Experience using Bloomberg, and other derivative pricing platforms
