Amazon is looking for a Finance Manager to lead the Mass Vendor Relations (MVR) business in Europe.
In that role you own the P&L of 20% of EU Stores retail business, across our Product families. You manage that business end-to-end together with your business partner identifying growth and profitability opportunities across negotiations, pricing, selection, supply chain etc. You interact and are able to influence up to very senior (VP) level stakeholders.
MVR’s vision is to be the experts in driving scaled growth for EU Retail, through cultivating vendor partnerships and onboarding the brands most desired by customers. We foster a collaborative, cross-functional approach, working seamlessly with PFs to deliver their vision. Together, we leverage our collective expertise and resources to drive scale, efficiency and an exceptional customer experience across EU Retail.
This role can be based from our Munich - DEU, London - GBR, Luxembourg - LUX, Madrid - ESP or Milan - ITA offices.
Key job responsibilities
- You identify opportunities and drive projects to deliver long term free cash flow (LTFCF)
- You own the whole P&L of the part of Retail business we manage at scale: you understand financial outputs, connecting them with inputs and communicate the story to business leaders
- You partner with business leaders acting as consultant driving strategic decision as well as operational excellence
- You collaborate with partner teams such as accounting, inventory and operations teams to support to senior executives on key initiatives.
- You set up financial goals and tracking business performance against those
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
