Engineer, Projects

Your tasks:
Project Manager:
- Effectively support customers by managing customer projects from initial quotation through project completion
- Interact with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have.
- Prepare proposal quotation and documentation.
- Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
Facilitator:
- Perform liaison function between engineering and all mechanical services operations for any related issues, problems, or improvements.
- Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.
- Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, production, accounting personnel, metal finishing and assembly.
Engineering:
- Generate and update process documentation, work Instructions, flow charts, etc.
- Review customer source control drawings, specification control drawings and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility of the component.
- Perform all necessary calculations such as stress analysis, performance analysis, and pressure drop and flow analysis, etc. as required.
- Interact with mechanical personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas regarding company products.
- Participate in engineering and general design review as required.
- Prepare preliminary design proposal(s).
Health Safety and Environmental:
- Demonstrate safe behavior, make safety observations, and support safety initiatives
- Provide support for safety investigation RC/CA
Quality:
- Assist in root cause investigation, and follow up on corrective actions
- KPI analysis, and tracking of corrective actions
- Operations Excellence:
- Promote lean culture throughout the facility
- Support OPEX events
- Support KPI analysis, and tracking of corrective actions
Your profile:
- Bachelor of engineering degree from four-year accredited college or university. Or a combination of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of college degree.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
- The Project Engineer receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others with limited supervision.
- Project management experience
- Proficient with computers applications MS Office suite, CAD, including electronic document control and distribution
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Can communicate effectively with other engineers, customers, shop floor team members etc.
- Experience working with automation and robots is a plus
- Experience working with CMM is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Quality systems is a plus
- Knowledge and experience applying Lean tools is a plus
- Capable of teaching and coaching other team members
- Six Sigma certification is a plus
- CWI certification is a plus
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to independently manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot as necessary to achieve swift and accurate project results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, across different levels of the organization.
- Professional, personable & diplomatic
- Able to prioritize and act logically amid pressures & deadlines
