Team / division overview

The CFO Division of DWS has presence in Frankfurt, London, New York, and Asia and is responsible for ensuring sound risk, finance and procurement management. The CFO Division comprises Risk, Procurement and Finance. Finance includes Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax as well as Capital & Liquidity Management and Finance Director teams.

The Transformation team is responsible for the implementation of the CFO change agenda. 

Role Details  

As part of our global transformation programme the successful candidate will be responsible for

CFO Transformation Portfolio Governance

Overall governance of CFO book of work, ensuring planning and execution of initiatives within the portfolio are proceeding as planned. Responsibilities in this regard include:

  • Coordination of Investment Governance activities and oversight of execution in line with the Change Governance Framework structure.
  • Book of work maintenance: Working with CFO managers and the CFO Transformation lead to maintain a view of all proposed change related projects and assess priority based on a pre-defined approach.
  • Prepare and present all book of work-related MI as well as ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance, including milestone tracking and financial analysis.
  • Advise project managers on required change governance and assist in initiating all framework requirements e.g. Clarity project set up and project governance etc.
  • Assist the CFO Transformation lead in resource management across programmes by maintaining a view of all non-IT project resource capabilities.
  • Drive continuous demand management discussions to ensure the book of work is flexible and proactive.

Lighthouse PMO

DWS’s Lighthouse programme is a Strategic Initiative to implement Finance and Procurement’s strategic infrastructure (SAP S4, Ariba) and related business processes. This is a multi-year programme with two main workstreams – Finance & Procurement. The Lighthouse PMO financial management role will include:

  • Maintenance of a detailed view of project resource (covering c50 people).
  • Working with the relevant support functions and the COO team assist in the management of contract renewals for new external resources.
  • Working with IT and central finance functions to develop a monthly financial summary of the programme and associated commentary for presentation in the programme SteerCo.

Other

There will be further opportunities to contribute to program delivery work across the CFO Transformation book of work as capacity and transformation demand allows.

Skills & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate proven skills in the following within a change environment:

  • Attention to detail and structured approach - This is essential given that adherence to a defined Change Governance Framework is central to this role.
  • Communication – Clear, concise verbal and written communication is key to having an impact given that this role will involve significant exposure to multiple senior CFO and Technology leads.
  • Project Management – PMO experience within a large programme is essential.
  • Pragmatic approach – Focus on working with the stakeholders to agree practical solutions to issues within required timelines is essential for the delivery programme to succeed.
  • People management - Ability to manage more junior resource both locally and in remote locations.
  • Experience in an RTB Finance, Procurement or Risk role would be an advantage.
