At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring a Customer Practice Manager to build and lead a team to deliver transformational engagements for our German customers to accelerate their journey to cloud. A Customer Practice Manager will focus on a set of customers, building relationships jointly with our sales teams, and will manage a multi-disciplined team of direct reports. The CPM will develop a long-term Customer strategy and execute a plan within their accounts.
The Customer Practice Manager is a trusted advisor for our enterprise customers with a strong combination of industry expertise, technical experience, coaching and leadership skills, and an ability to learn fast in a fast-paced environment. The role includes all aspects of business development, people management, relationship development, delivery oversight, and program management in their accounts.
Key job responsibilities
- Leadership - Hire, develop and retain top talent focused on banking, capital markets and insurance. Set objectives and coach your team to help them achieve their career goals
- Pre-Sales - Work across AWS and partners to formulate strategies to accelerate Customer business outcomes and agree AWS Professional Services propositions with senior Customer executives
- Advisory - Engage with customers to understand their business drivers and portfolio leveraging industry expertise and market knowledge in banking, capital markets or insurance
- Delivery - Oversee delivery of projects, ensure high quality, on time and on budget delivery and customer satisfaction with mitigation of delivery risks and issues.
- Operations - Manage a professional services business with all its aspects including pipeline management, forecasting, resource and delivery planning, and cost recovery
- Organizational Development – Work across AWS and Partners to develop customers on long-term and scale by leading effort to enhance industry-specific re-usable solutions
Position can be based in Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich.

- Multi-year experience within Media / Entertainment / Sports, with an understanding of common business and IT challenges, current and emerging digital solutions, and opportunities
- Thought leader with experience managing executive Customer relationships and with track record in selling and delivering high-impact consulting/professional services engagements
- Experience with contract and statement of work development as well as experience in business and/or IT advisory and IT Transformation to actively support project delivery
- Experience in hiring, developing and leading experienced consultants and track record of owning and achieving business targets around bookings, revenue, margin, utilization, customer satisfaction and hiringorganizations and partners to deliver results
- Travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed and appropriate
- Experience leading the delivery of enterprise-level business/digital/IT transformations in a major business or IT consultancy role
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of cloud, market segments, Customer base and industry-specific solutions in Media, Entertainment or Sports
- Experience in new ways of delivering and operating solutions (e.g., Agile, Design Thinking, DevOps)
- Hands-on skills and experience in cloud, IT infrastructure, IT operations, business applications
