Deutsche Bank is exposed to a number of risks on a daily basis. The Risk function has group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market & operational risks. Credit Risk Management (CRM) is an independent credit approval and monitoring function within Deutsche Bank.
The CRM ABS Berlin Team is a specialized Credit Risk Management team within Risk which covers a diverse and large-sized portfolio of Securitization facilities and Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) in conjunction with global CRM ABS teams (London/New York/Sydney). The candidate will be required to handle the workflow for a dedicated portfolio of counterparties including approval of new transactions, restructuring of existing transactions, annual credit and rating reviews and ongoing monitoring pertaining to assigned portfolio (e.g. Watchlist, Impairment, etc., as required), all following the credit standards and approved credit processes of Deutsche Bank. This role also comprises working closely with respective business, credit and other infrastructure functions to ensure data quality and internal policy standards.
Your key responsibilities
Handling a defined portfolio of Securitization/ABS transactions across various asset classes (e.g. RMBS, CDO, Consumer, to name a few), including new deal approval, restructurings, credit and rating reviews; candidate must be able to review/run complex cash flow models (e.g. used to determine rating and/or sensitivity to market downturn).
Providing challenge to front office/first line of defense; credit approval in line with applicable credit authority, escalating where appropriate.
Support ancillary processes to deal monitoring and credit approvals, such as handling internal/external audit requests, assisting in the calculation of risk weighted assets process, portfolio stress testing, watchlist and monthly performance monitoring, as required.
Develop constructive working relationships within respective credit risk, infrastructure (e.g. Finance, Risk Methodologies, Credit Ops) and front office functions.
Participating/contributing to various conference meetings and monitoring quorums; may involve presentation of work results to decision-makers/working groups/senior credit officers.
Your skills and experiences
University degree (University, Fachhochschule or Berufsakadamie) preferably in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics or suitable equivalent.
Prior experience in Credit Risk is ideal; other candidates may be considered.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English is essential).
Strong analytical skills, including advanced IT skills (Microsoft Excel and/or VBA).
An ambitious and highly driven professional who is able to set priorities and work under pressure with a high degree of independence.
