Corporate Finance Reporter Bloomberg News is looking for an experienced corporate finance reporter in London to break news on bond offerings, develop stories on market trends and write authoritatively about Europe's credit market.
You will be a joining a team of experienced journalists that cover some of the biggest debt markets in the world, and regularly produce well read stories on the Terminal and the web. You'll sit on a fast-paced team helping to break news of new bond sales across Europe for Terminal clients. We'll need you to help chase down the details of new primary market deals quickly and accurately. A good understanding of corporate finance and debt issuance is paramount.
As well as short, on the spot stories, you'll be expected to produce longer, analytical pieces on bond market trends, harnessing the power of the data within the terminal, and working with colleagues across the team in EMEA and globally.
WE'LL TRUST YOU TO:
- Monitor the new issue bond market and follow up with context and analysis
- Track trends in credit for moves and build out ideas into both short and long-form stories
- Provide a constant stream of news and content to expert and non-expert readers
- Work well and collaborate with colleagues in EMEA and globally
- Recognize and work on big theme stories and ideas
- Be able to write and present information across multiple formats
WE'LL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to make and build sources in financial markets
- A minimum of three years in journalism with a focus on fixed income markets or corporate finance, including stints in a real-time breaking news environment
- Experience with real-time news
- Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
- Ability to generate exclusive, breaking news as well as informative feature stories
- A proven ability to multi task and prioritize
