Join Amazon’s Public Policy & Government Affairs Team in Germany as Corporate Affairs Manager! This is a fixed term contract for 16 months.
As Public Policy Corporate Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of local, and national policymakers, trade associations, think tanks and other non-governmental groups in Germany in support of our consumer-centric business model. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers. You will participate in meetings of trade associations, plan external outreach programs, partnerships, and initiatives in support of these objectives. As Corporate Affairs Manager you will help build and sustain strong relationships locally and regionally and support community programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and fostering relationships with municipalities, community leaders, local business leaders and associations, and citizens.
The Corporate Affairs Manager will manage and drive complex projects, and provide clear and confident guidance, including in situations of high ambiguity. The role will coordinate and align efficiently, effectively, and cross-functionally, across Amazon and keep internal stakeholders informed, using excellent writing and communications skills. The Corporate Affairs Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including site leaders, Public Relations, Public Policy, Legal and Business functions and Amazon Community teams in Germany. The role will be based in Berlin.
- Bachelor degree in an area of study relevant to this role.
- Experience within public affairs, government relations, public relations, trade associations, non-profit organizations, community affairs or related field.
- Written proficiency and spoken fluency in German and English is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team and within highly matrixed, complex organizational structures
- Experience in building and fostering relationships with internal stakeholders and external partner organizations.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work independently and autonomously
- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
- Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, and resourceful in problem-solving
- Comfortable engaging with a wide variety of audiences including government, administration, civic associations or regional business groups
- The highest personal level of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Excellent organizational, communications and writing skills
- Strong project management skills
