Global Operational Excellence (GOX) develops the Operational Excellence and drives Amazon growth in a cross-functional environment with Cross Dock and Fulfillment Center Operations, Transportation, Analytics and other stakeholders across the Supply Chain.
GOX is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to support our vision of giving our customers the best fulfillment experience in the world, and our mission of delighting our customers by providing capabilities, tools and mechanisms to fulfillment operations. As Ops Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will serve as a key technical expert delivering critical data solutions across the organization. You will lead the development of comprehensive business intelligence tools, including dashboards and scorecards, conduct advanced statistical analyses, and develop machine learning solutions to drive data-informed decision making and business growth. On top of your internal customers within OPS DEA team you would be supporting more widely with your experience and skills all across the org, partnering with a wide range of departments within Amazon Fulfillment org. You will be part of the community of Analyst within GOX including BA, BIE, Applied Scientists, SDE split across the different departments. You will be part of projects requiring you close collaboration and interactions with Operations that require you a good understanding of product flow and process all along the distribution chain. The GOX team is now recognized for its expertise and excellence in creating tools those improve massively the customer experience. Several of the team development for EU now rolled out in other regions with some of these tools becoming worldwide standard.
Reporting to the GOX Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing the data-driven decision process across the entire business, and be exposed to a wide range of functions from Operations, Finance, Technology, and Change management. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal instruction and oversight, manage multiple tasks and support projects simultaneously. Maintaining your relationships with the customers in operations and within the team, while owning deliverables end-to-end is expected. Critical to the success of this role is your ability to work with big data, develop insightful analysis, communicate findings in a clear and compelling way and work effectively as part of the team, raising the bar and insisting on high standard.

• Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
• Work with program managers and partner with Operations, Finance, Technology, Change Management and Customer Experience teams in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytics and reports.
• Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
• Implement training and documentation solutions that enables stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve reporting tools.
• Develop and support the analytical technologies that give our customers timely, flexible and structured access to their data.
• Defining, developing and maintaining critical business and operational reports reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Analysis of historical data to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations
• Collaborating with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of machine learning models
• Understanding of Amazon’s data resources, which to use, how, and when
About the team
The Speed and Service Programs team is part of EU STEP (Supply Chain, Transportation Planning & Operational Excellence). Structure aims to deliver greater efficiency, faster execution, and sustainable growth.
The Speed and Service Programs team is responsible for One-Day plus (1D+) Speed, Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA), and On Road Delivery Service. This consolidation creates a unified DEA and Speed organization, enabling improved performance in our two critical customer metrics. The Speed team champions 1D, 2D and 3D+ delivery speed across EU5 and Expansion countries providing a link between Stores and operations. It enables improved on-time performance, measured through DEA, across EU13, by leveraging synergies from the end to end (E2E) DEA programs, the CF DEA organization Global Operational Excellence (GOX) and the AMZL DEA team. The team continues to support talent programs and talent planning.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
