Looking back on a long tradition in research with synchrotron radiation PETRA III is one of the most brilliant hard X-ray facilities worldwide, providing 25 undulator beamlines for experiments utilizing the excellent source brilliance. The "Powder Diffraction and Total Scattering Beamline" P02.1 provides state-of-the-art powder diffraction and total scattering X-ray measurement to an international user community. We are seeking for a highly motivated engineer to join our team.
- Technical support at the beamline: maintenance/repair and optimization of components, development of new sample environments, development of mechatronic systems, development of new beamline components
- User support for setup and during operation of the equipment
- Design and commissioning of experiments in cooperation with the scientific team
- Support of the local beamline laboratories

Limited: 2 years
- Dipl. Ing. (Uni/FH) or Bachelor/Master of Engineering in the field of engineering, physical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience and knowledge with 3D-CAD programs and design, preferably with Siemens NX
- Knowledge in the field of measurement and control
- Knowledge in working with robotic or automated systems
- Technical and mechanical skills
- Good communication skills in German and English language
- Basic knowledge in electronics is an asset
- Training as a mechanic is an asset
