Work Environment

Within vehicle safety, the department of safety electronics ensures that the requirements placed on safety functions and control units due to laws, consumer requirements and real accidents are met. In particular, the interfaces to the future fields of piloted/automated driving as well as new electronic architectures and the holistic development of new functions offer new challenges in vehicle safety. In our great and young team we design all steps from conception and development to the final validation of innovative electronic functions and relevant components.

Job Purpose/Role
  • You will complete a first project within your target field development electronic safety functions.
  • In course of the program you will work independently on up to four more projects in various divisions of the company, one of them at a VW Group brand abroad and another at another company of the VW Group in Germany. Throughout these assignments you will get to know process partners and interfaces for your future position.
  • In addition, you will complete short modules in different areas of the company (e. g. assembly)
  • You will engage in various working groups within the Graduate Trainee Community
  • After completing the program, you will take on your position in the target field development electronic safety functions.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
  • University degree from an accredited university in the field of electrical engineering / computer science or similar required

  • Above-average academic performance

  • You are enthusiastic and ideally experienced in the field of electronics and in the design of networked functions and software applications

  • Experiences in professional project management and maybe requirements management processes

  • You enjoy working very independently and on your own responsibility and meet daily challenges with creativity and pioneering spirit

  • Minimum of three months of international experience during your academic program through internships or a semester abroad

  • Practical experience of at least six months through relevant internships

  • Fluent English and German language (Level B2+)

  • Relevant extra-curricular commitment

  • Passion for future mobility solutions
