Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design / Verification Engineer

Job Duties: Design and development of high-performance and high-reliability mixed-signal integrated circuits for implantable medical products. Active involvement in all aspects of IC design, including the development of functional concepts and specifications, top-level design architecture, design partitioning and block level design, detailed circuit design and simulation, layout floor-planning and transistor level layout, bench verification and testing, test-vector development, and documentation. Design of novel very low-power, low-voltage analog/mixed-signal IC functional blocks including but not limited to voltage/current references, operational amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits (amplifiers, filters, charge pumps, etc.), ADCs and DACs, oscillators, switching power circuits, communication circuits, etc. Design of robust, energy-optimal mixed-signal circuits for neuromodulation applications, including circuits for neural stimulation, neural signal amplification/filtering/signal processing, battery charging and power-management. Design of very low power digital functional blocks (combinatorial, sequential, synchronous, asynchronous, state machines, etc.) for timing, control, interfacing and signal processing. A strong grasp of the tradeoffs involved in using various analog and digital circuit design techniques to optimally implement system functions is highly desired. Effective collaboration with other members of the IC design group and with teams in other design centers. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, combined with at least 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Engineer, or related position, including the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • At least one year of experience with integrated circuit design and layout using a CMOS process technology.
  • At least one year of experience using low power circuit design techniques.
  • At least one year of experience in development and testing for lab software
  • At least one year of experience testing code generation for pre-silicon and post-silicon verification.

Must pass pre-employment controlled substance test and criminal background check
