Tasks

  • Performing quality inspections during the assembly and delivery process of the aircraft at Airbus according to procedures
  • Assisting the customer acceptance team during the technical aircraft delivery process, participating on the acceptance flight and advising customer on technical issues
  • Documenting findings according to the manufacturers procedures and report to the client (in written form) findings and the status of the assembly process of the clients A/C
  • Aircraft Assessments
    • Damage Assessments
    • Troubleshooting Recommendations
    • Evaluating the consequences of non-conformities during the production
  • Checking of all documents necessary for the production and the acceptance of an aircraft; self-contained performance of zonal inspections and ground checks as well as check- and acceptance flights
  • Administer delegated responsibilities and act in the interest of the client
  • Regular communication to the customer and the aircraft manufacturer
  • Negotiation with the aircraft manufacturer to guarantee the customer interests for all relevant technical aspects
  • Performing non-routine activities

The ideal Aircraft Production Inspector should meet the following requirements:

  • Trained technician or master technician and typically 10 or more years of accordant experience (i.e. Line/Base Maintenance) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced communication skills in English
  • A320/A330/A350 (ATR) B1 or B2 license and troubleshooting experience
  • General knowledge of Aircraft production and assembly procedures and manufacturing components (e.g., composites, structures)
  • General understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies and the ability to solve electronics related problems
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of repair concepts i.e. repair station processes, component repair concepts, procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing specification of international air law
  • Basic skills in using Microsoft Office products
  • Physical fitness to attend acceptance flights and entering confined spaces in aircraft
  • Team leading experience
  • Willingness to travel (frequent duty trips)
