Position Overview

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Indra is the central program driving the introduction and safe scaling of AI at DB. Focus is to identify AI potential across various banking operations, driving funded use cases into production to create value and confidence and scale across the bank, creating selected shared services with embedded safety to enable low cost scale, developing an AI Workbench for developers for safe AI development at pace, and introducing AI controls whilst aiming to maintain time to market.

As an AI/ML Product Manager, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution for an AI-powered shared service within the bank. You will define and prioritize product roadmaps and use cases, working closely with data scientists, engineers, business stakeholders, and control functions to deliver scalable and high-impact AI solutions. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and stakeholder management to drive adoption, ensure compliance, and continuously enhance AI services to meet evolving user needs.

Your key responsibilities

  • Work with AI use cases from across the bank to create impactful scalable AI shared services

  • Maintain the product roadmap for AI shared services, ensuring alignment with business priorities and user needs

  • Apply design thinking principles to deeply understand user needs, explore problem spaces, and ensure AI shared services are intuitive, scalable, and impactful

  • Drive rapid Proof-of-Concept (PoC) development, collaborating with engineering and business teams to test ideas, validate value, and iterate quickly

  • Work closely with data scientists and engineering teams to drive the development, enhancement, and scaling of AI services, ensuring high performance, cost optimisation and reliability

  • Manage the backlog and prioritization process, balancing feature enhancements, technical debt, and risk and compliance requirements

  • Ensure AI services are designed and deployed within the bank’s regulatory, risk, and control frameworks

  • Establish and track key success metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization based on usage data and user feedback

  • Stay updated on AI, automation, data science, and machine learning trends in banking, identifying opportunities for innovation in process automation

Your skills and experience

  • Several years of experience as a product manager, preferably in AI and machine learning within financial services or a regulated industry

  • Experience in design thinking and rapid Proof-of-Concept (PoC) development, iterating quickly to test, validate, and scale AI-driven innovations

  • Strong technical understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including model development, deployment, and governance considerations

  • Experience working with engineering teams in an agile environment, managing backlogs, writing user stories, and prioritizing features

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions

  • Knowledge of regulatory, risk, and compliance frameworks relevant to AI adoption in banking, ensuring adherence to governance standards

  • Ability to craft compelling product narratives, including roadmaps, presentations, and promotional materials to drive awareness and adoption

  • Business fluency in English
