About the team and the role:

The eBay Shared Services Accounting team is seeking a highly motivated individual with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills to join the team as an Accounting Manager.

This is an opportunity to become a member of a dynamic organization supporting eBay’s largest, and multi-billion-dollar Marketplaces platform with an emphasis in reporting compliance. The primary duties for this role include supporting the team in handling the financial statement preparation, auditing, and reporting for eBay’s affiliated entities. Of course, there are many great partners, both internal and external, that participate to ensure success. This position is supported and engages with sharp professionals with diverse backgrounds, operating in a fast-paced, intellectual, and team-oriented environment.

This role has a hybrid way of working, with 3 days based in our Dreilinden office.

What you will accomplish:

• Leading the statutory accounting process for eBay’s affiliated entities.
• Complete statutory reporting activities, including preparing annual financial statements and coordination with external auditors.
• Support accounting operations in maintaining accurate reconciliations of all G/L accounts and ensuring financial statement integrity.
• Ensure consistent and appropriate accounting treatment for transactions in accordance with local standards and Company policies.
• Interface and collaborate with management in various departments, including tax, treasury, and corporate accounting to ensure accurate treatment.
• Leading projects, process improvements and successful collaborations with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused results.
• Ensuring that this sophisticated and dynamic process remains focused on both accuracy and timeliness.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting. CPA / ACCA, CIMA is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting background.
• At least six years general ledger accounting experience is required of which at least four have been spent in financial statement preparation, auditing, or reporting
• Strong Excel and analytical approach.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Great teammate and has ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including German GAAP (HGB), International Accounting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP and compliance experience.
• SAP Financial System experience, (SAP S4HANA highly desirable).
• Fluent in English, German is a plus (spoken and written)
  Self-motivated with the ability to work in a face-paced environment
