Accountant (Field Closing)
Main Tasks

The Field Closing Accountant works with a team under the Finance Shared Services, that is primarily:

  • Responsible for meeting the defined service levels and key measurement targets of the team.
  • Participate in the monthly and annual closing activities.
  • Performs various controls and accounting related procedures, such as journal entry upload, quality checks and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Manage external and internal correspondence.
  • Participates in the business process design, analysis and updates of workflows/tasks.
Scope & Impact
  • Answers semi-routine and non-standard inquiries and makes decisions on specific accounts at the level of the delegation/structure.
  • The accounting volume of the delegation/structure ranges from Sfr 200,000 to Sfr 500,000 a month.
  • Directly supervises up to 3 full-time staff in up to 3 field sites.
Required Profile
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Have at least two (2) years working experience in general accounting
  • Good understanding of financial and analytical accounting
  • Experience with JD Edwards / Peoplesoft is an asset
  • Experience with Process Design and Analysis
  • Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) is an asset
  • Technically proficient in using Microsoft Office softwares – e.g. Excel, Word
  • Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of the French language is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
